  • T. Henderson Sterling Silver & Turquoise Bolo Tie [SG-293]

This bolo tie features a finely detailed Kachina figure, a spiritual presence symbolizing blessings, harmony, and protection. The Spirit is crafted with hand-wrought bracelets on its wrists, silver leaves, and a radiant Sunface medallion crowning its head. At the skirt rests a bold Blue Gem turquoise cabochon, set in a fine serrated bezel with silver rope framing and raindrop beads. The bolo measures 3" long by 1 1/8" wide and is suspended on a ¼" braided saddle leather cord with original fluted bead-ended tips.

The Blue Gem Mine, located in Nevada near Battle Mountain, produced some of the most highly prized turquoise ever discovered. Known for its hard, brilliant stones with rich blues and greens, Blue Gem supplied lapidaries and jewelers from the early 1900s until its closure in the 1970s.

The back is hallmarked “TH” for Toby Henderson alongside “Handmade Sterling Navajo.” Toby Henderson, an accomplished Navajo silversmith, became recognized in the mid-20th century for his Kachina and overlay silverwork, blending Hopi-inspired motifs with traditional Navajo silversmithing. The silver retains its deep, original patina.
