Spiney Oyster Bolo Tie [SG-290]

This bolo tie features a variegated spiny oyster chicklet centerpiece, framed in a deep organic patina in a lovely setting. The stone measures approx. 5/8″ x 1/2″, while the overall silverwork dimensions are 1 3/8″ x 1″. The bolo sits on a 38″ braided black leather cord and is finished with old-style sterling silver tips.

Spiny oyster shell has been prized in Southwestern jewelry for centuries, particularly by Zuni and Navajo silversmiths. Unlike turquoise, spiny oyster is not a mined stone but a shell sourced from the waters of the Gulf of California.
