This vintage bolo tie showcases a massive gem-grade turquoise cabochon cut in a bold diamond pendant shape (approx. 2 ¼″ x 1 5/8″). The stone is set in a finely hand-cut serrated bezel within a 3/16″ thick sterling silver shadowbox.
Deep chisel marks radiate at each corner, representing the Four Winds, a traditional Native symbol of balance, direction, and harmony. Mounted on a 37″ braided leather cord with heavy silver tips. The original patina enriches the turquoise’s vivid blue and golden-brown matrix.
This bolo is fitted with the early Bennett C-31 clasp, patented in 1957, a hallmark of authentic mid-century bolo ties prized by collectors. The C-31’s sturdy design and smooth tension mechanism made it the clasp of choice for mid-century Native and Western silversmiths.
