An early bolo tie featuring a bighorn sheepshead mounted in a deeply patinaed silver shadow box. Below the sculpted head sits a gem-grade, glossy-faced triangulated stone, set in the opposite direction of the triangular bolo body for a nice contrast. A thick twisted silver rope frames beautifully, emphasizing the bold, old-pawn presence. The face measures approximately 2 3/8" × 2 1/8". The braided cord is 40 inches with classic silver tips.
On the back, the slide is pre-Bennett, using a simple cord guide adjuster, hand-made soldered tubes rather than the later mass-produced Bennett C-31 clip that became common mid-century.
Pre-Bennett hardware signals earlier, more hand-built construction and is sought after by collectors for its authenticity. No marks; true old pawn character with honest wear and a rich, original patina.
