Zuni Squash Blossom Necklace [SG-466]

An elegant and alluring Zuni Squash Blossom necklace. What draws the eye in is the deep blue coloration of the Morenci mine turquoise, found in Arizona, long ago. Some stones show bits of pyrite, and some show water webbing, veining, and matrix host rock. The settings are formed around the natural shape of the stones quarried at the time. The bezel set is of fine serrations. All set into a shadow box bracket with a hand-formed/stamped leaf. There are two rows of six blossoms strung on a tiny silver handmade bench beads with outward ends, spaced four beads apart for optimum dexterity of movement when worn. The beads are strung on silver foxtail. The Naja is a perfect broken circle of seven blossoms caressing/protecting the central stone. The aged silver patina perfectly complements the deep colors of the stones. A masterpiece of tribal silver smithing/lapidary created in the 1960s. Old pawn.
