  • Esther Wood Necklace [SG-467]

Tribal, sumptuous, and simple. At first glance, you will see an old silver and high-grade turquoise from the southwest come together as one. The strings of the beads are in two rows per side and reminiscent of a warrior's breastplate, tiny and bench-made by hand. They are tapering in shape, top-like, and are supple in the wearer's movement. The 22 turquoise stones are blossom spoon-shaped. The thick silver stem inserted every two beads spacing shows serrated hand file work. The stone graduated from small to large in size as found in the mine Carico Lake, Nevada. Flowing down to the Naja heart shaped out of thick silver bars. A keystone shape crowns the inner stone like an embryo cradled in the center. Original silver patina. The creation of Navajo silversmith, lapidarist Esther Wood. Her work is highly sought after.
